Abstract

The Latin American countries were born to independent life when two important revolutions had already taken place: the American and the French. The circumstances that surrounded the different processes that culminated in the emergence of the nation-states that we know today, although different in many aspects, share, however, a culture and a way of seeing the world that adopted the principles of political modernity with enthusiastically, but somewhat hastily.
