Resumen

Este artículo identifica las raíces ideológicas, culturales e históricas del movimiento Medio Ambiente, Social y Gobernanza (ESG, por sus siglas en inglés). Identifica la  relación de los ESG con conceptos como la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial (RSE) y la teoría de gobernanza por partes interesadas (stakeholder). Sostiene que, como resultado de la concreción del concepto ‘ESG’, ha surgido una industria internacional que saca provecho económico y político de imponer a las empresas obligaciones relacionadas con el cuidado del ambiente, nuevos derechos sociales y nuevas formas de gobernanza.
