Abstract

This article studies in some detail and with abundant texts the relationship between philosophy, faith and Christian culture, which has sometimes been problematic, perhaps because there was a rationalist conception of philosophy —almost assimilable to mathematics— or because it was he mistakenly believed that a Christian could not be a true philosopher. The exhibition is broadly organized in a historical sense with a first section devoted to the impact of Christianity on ancient philosophy; second, the serious situation in modernity and the reaction of the Catholic Church in the 19th century; to finally suggest in the third section some keys for the renewal of Christian philosophy in the 21st century.
