Abstract

It seems that man is faced with nature that produces an opposition or struggle between them, which leads to the current environmental crisis. The reason for this could be the separation that Descartes introduced in the finite substances and that distinguishes the res extensive and the res cogitans. This brought things to a dichotomous confrontation. The foregoing is also supported by the fact that the body is associated with nature or that nature is in us -by extension- and the spiritual soul Descartes sees it as equivalent to the or thinking substance. For this reason, the idea of man as divided in an inner struggle between his soul and his body is skewed, almost in a Platonic style. Showing the above is the purpose of this article.
