Abstract

Emerging technologies now provide the possibility for human enhancement. In this new technological context appear the transhumanist and posthumanist theories that postulate human enhancement as a moral obligation. The central idea is that if humans can enhance themselves through technology, then they have the responsibility to do so. In this research, we reconsider the question of the moral obligation of human enhancements and try to shed light on the debate from the Christian perspective.
