Abstract

This work takes the History of Thucydides as a starting point to analyze the current world. From that perspective, the dilemma stands out that, in the current globalized world, the individual confronts the sociopolitical überbau, transformed into a labyrinthine building where there is almost no space for the particular subject that, likewise, would have ceased to be the key to the vault of the political community and the thermometer of values. First, the problem is disaggregated (first section). Later the position of Leo Strauss is confronted (second section). And then, the scope and limits of the modern project, established from Thomas Hobbes by the political philosophers, are analyzed (third section). Finally the conclusions are formulated (fourth section). The basic bibliography for reference is provided in the fifth and final section.
