Abstract

This work constitutes a bibliographic synthesis on the economic thought of Spanish Scholasticism that is intended to be useful for those who wish to initiate more detailed investigations. The importance of the Spanish Scholasticism (known as the School of Salamanca, a term that is clarified in the text) in the evolution of economic thought is highlighted, being responsible for fundamental theoretical elaborations discovered throughout the 20th century after being forgotten for centuries. The main contribution of Spanish Scholasticism lies in its contribution to the theories of prices and money, highlighting the integration of both thanks to their common foundation in a theory of subjective value.
