Capitalism and Teaching: The Persistent Moral Objection

Abstract

This paper aims to test the moral objection, that is, the one that not only critically judges capitalism in this or that historical concreteness, but also judges it unfavorably or even condemns it as a "system", that is, in itself. We start for this from the history of the DSI. In it we will find two tendencies, different in terms of the weight they assign to the moral objection: the first, of an asymmetric nature, that although it strongly criticizes capitalism, conditionally accepts it as a lesser evil or even recognizes positive values, while exhaustively condemning to communism; and another, of a symmetrical nature, which approaches the plain and simple condemnation of capitalism, on an equal footing with communism.
