This work tries to link the economic processes of value creation with institutional foundations of a formal and informal nature. Among the latter, a set of behaviors and virtues necessary for people to engage in a virtuous process of social cooperation and, at the same time, find meaning in their own life, are considered. In other words, an approximation to the moral requirements for human flourishing in the field of an open society is attempted. At the same time, a set of challenges facing the open society that could make it regress to relatively primitive stages are analyzed. Finally, it is considered that the members that characterize the open society of respect, tolerance, and inclusion are free and responsible people.
